The SSA Public Affairs Tool Kit

Tool Kit

This public affairs tool kit contains a variety of materials to give you an overview of the most current SSA PSA campaign entitled “Quiz Show” and help you develop more effective relationships with local media gatekeepers - particularly broadcast community affairs directors.

The kit contains a variety of helpful background information including:

  • A training video that provides you with an overview of the various tools we’ve developed to help you in your outreach efforts.

  • A sample of the TV PSAs that were distributed this past January, including “Quiz Show” in English and Spanish as well as three other PSAs in Spanish.

  • A storyboard showing key scenes from the various TV PSAs

  • A sample of the Radio CD package

  • Instructions for accessing two custom websites we’ve developed to help in your outreach efforts - one which is for your use only (SSA Online) and the other directed to media Gatekeepers (PSA Gallery).

  • A sample of the print ads to be distributed to magazines and newspapers

  • A media contact form for your use in ordering additional PSA materials.

How to View the SSA Custom Websites

The first step in using these materials is to view the videotape. Once you’ve had a chance to view the tape, then go to the website to review the various reports and articles that have been posted there. The instructions for accessing the websites are as follows:

  1. Go to www.psaresearch.com and scroll down to the PUBSANS GATEWAY icon at the bottom of the home page. When the access template comes on screen, select Social Security.

  2. After entering your name, affiliation and phone number, enter *** (Call Goodwill Communications at 703-426-0881 to get password) which will bring Social Security's PSA website on your PC screen.

If you have any questions about any aspect of the SSA Online website, please contact Bill Goodwill at bgoodwill@goodwillcommunications.com or call 703-426-0881.
